Few places in Goa capture the state’s easygoing rhythm quite like The Lazy Goose. Perched right by the Nerul River, this restaurant by Chef Rohan D’Souza brings together the essence of coastal living. Good food, great views, and a laid-back vibe that makes time move just a little slower. Between the live music, the soft breeze rolling off the water, and the warm hospitality from Manager Vishal and his team, our visit here felt like a long, lazy afternoon spent exactly the way Goa intends you to - unhurried, and full of flavour.
A fiery, tangy mix of Goan chorizo and sautéed onions, this dish hits every note you’d want from a local classic. The smoky sausage flavour carries a beautiful depth, and paired with soft poi bread, it’s comfort food at its finest. A must-order if you’re after authentic Goan spice.
This dish nailed both presentation and flavour. Tender chicken encasing a rich spinach and ricotta filling, all wrapped in perfectly crisp bacon, indulgent from start to finish. The creamy saffron gnocchi and the tangy green tomato olive salsa balanced it all beautifully. A clear highlight of the meal.
While visually stunning, this one was a bit of a mixed bag. The squid, stuffed with spinach and ricotta and topped with spicy tomato sauce, looked great but was slightly rubbery to chew. The olive oil garlic spaghetti it came with, however, was spot-on! silky, garlicky, and well seasoned.
An absolute winner. The charred, smoky skewers had that perfect BBQ tang, complemented by a creamy parmesan sour cream dip that brought everything together. With the portion size and pricing, this one’s easily among the best value dishes on the menu.
This dish captured the coastal spirit perfectly! fresh catch of the day grilled with precision, paired with a luscious clam sauce, Goan chorizo rice, and a surprisingly good cauliflower mash. The swap from mashed potatoes to cauliflower worked beautifully, keeping it light yet flavorful. A stellar main.
A dessert that disappeared faster than we’d like to admit. The caramelized sugar top cracked perfectly, revealing a creamy custard underneath with a subtle apple sweetness - indulgent, balanced, and absolutely delightful.
You can’t leave Goa without having bebinca, and this version served with vanilla ice cream was exceptional. Rich, dense layers paired with the cold creaminess made for the perfect ending to an already satisfying meal.
The Lazy Goose is everything you want from a Goan dining experience - scenic, soulful, and full of food that celebrates local flavours with finesse. It’s a place that effortlessly transitions from a lazy brunch spot to an elegant dinner venue, all while keeping the mood relaxed and inviting. Whether it’s the riverside charm, the sound of live music drifting through the air, or Chef Rohan’s thoughtful menu, this is a place that leaves an impression long after you’ve left the table.
